RUGBY LEAGUE REVIEW - JULY 2010 HEADLINES
LACHLAN COOTE - EXCITEMENT MACHINE
Penrith Panthers fullback Lachlan Coote is enjoying the best season of his National Rugby League career
and it's no coincidence that his team is also flying high and look set to feature in the finals for the
first time since 2004. Although he is a Windsor Wolves junior, Rugby League wasn't the Penrith custodian's
first choice after a brief stint in the world game. Find out more in the latest issue of Rugby League
Review.
PLANNING FOR 2011
We're more than halfway through the NRL season and already a handful of teams are starting to look towards
next year in the hope of better results than 2010. While not ruling out their chance of making this season's
finals series, it will take a dramatic change of form for Cronulla, the Bulldogs, the Knights and the Cowboys
to play semi-final football, and a successful court appeal for the Storm to have any hope. Find out more in
the latest issue of Rugby League Review.
AFFILIATED STATES CHAMPIONSHIPS
Western Australia (WA) played their way to their eighth National Affiliated Champions Title in ten years
beating Victoria 25-24 in the final round. At half time the scores were level at 12 all after WA gave away
a 12 point start. The score got to 18 all half way through the second half before WA got to a 24 - 18 lead.
With five minutes to go, WA put over a field goal to provide some breathing space which was needed as
Victoria still hit back in the 78th minute to get within a point. Find out all the details in the latest
issue of Rugby League Review.
HISTORY OF RUGBY LEAGUE (1983)
We review the year 1983, covering all matches played, as well as a scoreboard and the main news
reported for that season. You will find all the details and all the results in the latest issue
