RUGBY LEAGUE REVIEW - JUNE 2009 HEADLINES
KNIGHTS SURVIVE WITHOUT LEAGUES CLUB BACKER
The Newcastle Knights are at a crossroads financially after a string of developments that have placed
the club in a fragile fiscal position. The Knights released their 2008 annual report last month which
detailed a $244,000 overall loss. While this result is largely disappointing for the Novocastrian club,
it is regarded as a remarkable turnaround from the club's 2007 financial loss of around $1.3M.
Find out all the details in the latest issue of Rugby League Review.
HOME SWEET HOME
Olympic Park isn't known as 'The Graveyard' for no reason, with the Melbourne Storm having had the best
NRL record at home since the 2005 season. In 55 matches played at
their home ground in the past four years, the Storm have won 46
matches, drawn 1, and lost 8 matches. In the past four years alone,
Melbourne have only lost four matches. Find out more details in the latest issue of Rugby League
Review.
ILLAWARRA CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF THE BUSH
Illawarra showed they have the strongest Rugby League competition in NSW Country after winning their
third successive title by defeating the Bidgee Bulls 28-6 in the final of the 2009 Regional Championships.
We have the most comprehensive coverage of the NSW Country Regional Championships. Read all the details
in the latest issue of Rugby League Review.
NORWAY MAKES HISTORY
The first ever Rugby League games were played in Norway on May 30. We have an exclusive report on the
Nines tournament in Oslo with the all scores and photos of the tournament. You can find out more in the
